Cultural Excursion

February 26th 2020

This is the first day we met our buddy. They pick us at the Complex in KKU, they are is Man and Yoli. We are going for dinner to one of Halal Restaurant in Khon Kaen which is near from the campus.

After that, Man and Yoli brought us to the 62 Blocs Night Market to see around and have a chitchat in Milk Land.

February 27th 2020

We met another buddy, that is Jake, Joey, Shymorg, Lif and Liw. We went to the same restaurant for having lunch. It such a great time to met them, because they are so entertaining as they said that they are "entertainment education" students.

All of our buddies are from mathematics education which is the same as me.

February 29th 2020

We went to Wat Nong Wang, one of the famous temple in Khon Kaen. It's a very nice temple, many people come to pray or for an excursion. We still have to maintain our attitude when you are in the temple seeing that this is a sacred place for Buddhist. There are 9 floors in that and we go up until the top floor. From the top we can see the beauty of Khon Kaen city. We can see Bung Kaen Nakhon lake too. I  can feel the serenity of this temple.

After looking around the temple we went to the largest night market in Khon Kaen that is Ton Taan Market. We can do many activites in this market, enjoying the music because they have a live music, beautiful garden, taking some photos because they have a lot of good places to take a photo, you can shopping, eating delicious food and also seeing another art exhibition.

March 3rd and 4th 2020

The IRDTP prepared an excursion for us to visit Udon Thani, which is different province from Khon Kaen. Before we arrived in Udon Thani, we went to another famous temple in Khon Kaen that is Wat Phra Bat Phu Pan Kham. It such a beautiful temple, we climbed a very high stairs up to reach the top of the temple. Climbing the stairs up was very exhausting but paid off with the beautiful view we got from the top.

Not far from the temple we went to Ubolratana Dam to see around and take some photos. It such a beautiful dam and we can feel the fresh air from that. After that, we continued our trip to Udon Thani for about one hour and a half. When we arrived at Udon Thani we went for lunch, but since me and my friends are muslims that have some rules for eat so we went to a halal restaurant to take away the food. I'm very thankful for this religious tolerance, they understand that we have a rules for some food and about the prayer time too.

After having a lunch, we went to a coffee shop to wait for the hotel check-in time. We stayed at Paradise Hotel in Udon Thani.

After putting items in the room, we went to Nakha Market. This market is also known as a Silk Village, because they sell a lot of Thai silk products. But it's not only silk, there are a lot of Thai products that we can buy for ourselves or as a gift.

After looking around and buying some stuff, we continued our trip. When we were on the way to the next destination, it suddenly rained and it was a hail. That was the first time i have seen hail. All of us felt worried and amazed at the same time to see the hail. Miss Apinya said that it wasn't normal in Thailand.

Then, we went to UD Town that is a big night market in Udon Thani. They are selling so many things such as food, souvenir, and many more.

The next day, we checked out from the hotel and prepared heading to Museum of Udon Thani. We saw a lot history of Udon Thani in that museum. This museum also provide content and knowledge about the culture, history of Udon Thani, art, including lifestyle of Udon Thani people from the past until now.

After that we were heading back to Khon Kaen. But before we returned to the dorm, we visited Khon Kaen Zoo to see animals. We were having fun to see a lot of animals there, such as bear, several types of birds, primates, lion, hippopotamus, deer, and many more.

This is a precious experience to be able to go around Udon Thani and Khon Kaen with the precious people too.
