SEA-Teacher Pilot Project 2020

February 26th 2020 This is the first day we met our buddy. They pick us at the Complex in KKU, they are is Man and Yoli. We are going for dinner to one of Halal Restaurant in Khon Kaen which is near from the campus. After that, Man and Yoli brought us to the 62 Blocs Night Market to see around and have a chitchat in Milk Land. February 27th 2020 We met another buddy, that is Jake, Joey, Shymorg, Lif and Liw. We went to the same restaurant for having lunch. It such a great time to met them, because they are so entertaining as they said that they are "entertainment education" students. All of our buddies are from mathematics education which is the same as me. February 29th 2020 We went to Wat Nong Wang, one of the famous temple in Khon Kaen. It's a very nice temple, many people come to pray or for an excursion. We still have to maintain our attitude when you are in the temple seeing that this is a sacred place for Buddhist. Procedures of Teaching After finished my lesson plan and with the approval of my mentor and other teachers, they arranged my teaching schedule. I got the opportunity to teach in class M.1/1 and M.1/2 which are classes with IEC (Intensive English Course) program . I teached for one meeting each class with a duration 50 minutes per meeting.  When i teach, i accompanied by the mathematics teachers. They observed my teaching and helped me to handle if there any language that difficult to understood by the students, since the mathematical language is quite different with the daily language. I teach Sector Arc Length and Area, and i used the pizza as the representative for the sector. After i explain the topics, i gave the students a worksheet that they have to do it by themselves. While they do the worksheet, me and the teachers get around seeing the students work and helped them if they have any difficulties. Purpose of Practicum SEA-Teacher program is one of my dream when enteri UPI my university. This program gives a chance to the student teachers to practice teaching abroad. The SEA-Teacher Pilot Project program is different from the previous batch, this project was held with a new member that is Japan. This program gives me a lot of valuable experiences that will be worthwhile for my future. I have learned how to instruct the students thinking skill form this practicum. I have learned to be more confident to teach not only in my country but also in another country. This program not only make an impact for teaching skill but also for the knowledge about the culture of the other country. After doing a few observations, i was given time to make my lesson plan and then send it to my mentor. Then, i was asked to present the lesson plan that i made to the math teachers and also do micro teaching. All of that to discuss about my lesson plan, if there any thing that i have to modify and give me some advice about what i have to do when i teach. My mentor and other teachers are really helped me in the process of making my lesson plan. Due to the different curriculum between Thailand and Indonesia, i need to learn more about The Basic Core Curriculum in Thailand to design my lesson plan. My mentor gave me the example of the lesson plan used in this school and the teaching materials. Furthermore, i have to make some media to make it easier for students to understand because of the different language that we have.
